Hey Guys!!!
My name is Rafael, born and raised in San Juan Puerto Rico. Since i was little i always had the drive in helping people no matter their situation, care for them, simpathetic to the elderly and always love kids specially those with down syndrome. i would like to start working in pediatrics as soon as i have the chance to do it before or after i graduate from my bachelors degree in May 2010. My goal in nursing will be to continue studying while working, and obtain different certifications in Oncology and Forensic Science.
Hello everyone. My name is Juan Barnés and I am in my last year of nursing at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. I have a previous degree in Multinational
Business and was working as a flight attendant when I decided it was time to do something more meaingful in my life. I think I had started going through my mid-life crises when I decided to look into nursing. I found it to be a fascinating field with endless choices and opportunities. All of the sudden I started meeting people who were in the field and the more I learned about it, the more I was convinced that this would be the right move and choice for me. And to this day I have no regrets at all. I love it and feel very passionate about it. I still do not know yet what field I want to specialize in, but medical-surgical nursing will be one of my choices. I hope that once I get my feet wet in a healthcare setting I will be able to pinpoint with more accuracy what the best fit will be for me. Professionaly I want to be the best nurse I could be in one specific specialized field. My most immediate short term goals are to graduate from the program in May 2010 and pass the NCLEX. My long term goal is to eventually teach at the undergraduate level. I am very excited and thrilled about the new career I am about to embark on. And with an open heart and a loving spirit, I plan to fully absorb every experience along the path.

Denise's Introduction

Hello everyone. My name is Denise Rodriguez. I am in my final year of the BSN nursing program at Interamerican University PR. I am very excited when I look forward to graduation and starting to work in the field. When I graduate my plan is to return to Atlanta, GA and work at a hospital near my home via an externship program. I have not decided on a specialty of any kind and want to wait until I have worked and had more experience working in a hospital to make a decision about which way I will be going professionally.

I'm Chuck Barrett

Hello everyone interesting! My name is Chuck Barrett, and I am a Nursing Student in Puerto Rico. No matter how hard I try, I am unable to focus on anything other than Psychiatric Nursing. I guess that's what you'd term a "calling": every article I see, every medication I read about: if it's concerning the brain and mental health, I'M HOOKED! I want to help people live their lives without being overwhelmed by the stressors of the 21st Century! It's a beautiful world: get out there and PLAY! Lives lost to drugs and alcohol hurt me to my core. I want to spread the message of recovery. There's so much help out there! We can do so much more than "survive": we can THRIVE!

We are: Juan Barnes, Chuck Barrett, Kristen Carpenter, Rafael Mendez & Denise Rodriquez.
